I am surprised at the negative reviews of this little lap top. It is attractive and more importantly worked out of the box. After booting, I went immediately to Windows update and downloaded 61 updates and all loaded successfully. This little beast then recognized my other system computers and downloaded music and software for various printers. I have been able to load and run older versions of Microsoft Office, Dragon Naturally Speaking,download video and music from the Teaching Company and and Amazon as well as update Skype..... The keyboard is perfect for my rather weak touch, but not overly sensitive. Multiple open programs work quickly. I was expecting that an i3 would be slower and have hesitancy with all that I threw at it but it just churned on. I have not tested the HDMI port yet but will update the review later.

Got this a few days ago when I ordered it from a black Friday deal(yeah so that offering was not a scam, some people did get one). It was a Christmas gift so I wasn't planning on opening it. After reading the 4 reviews for the product on 11/29 I decided I better open it and check it out...cause if it can go wrong, it will...that's my luck. Anyway, I opened the box with a fair amount of trepidation, and it was in there, so far so good. Next I unpacked it and plugged it in waiting for the blue screen of death, smoke, hard drive clicking, a total lack of activity, or anyone of the myriad of other signs indicating issues with the product. Well after holding my breath for a few seconds the machine started right up, went through its initial use procedure, got online through my network and is now being updated. PERFECT, works great! I purchased this laptop the day before Thanksgiving and had waited for 6 days. After calling Amazon customer service several times and hearing a different story from each Rep. finally found out it had never been shipped out of Amazon Warehouse.
There was a UPS tracking created but they didn't have any left in the warehouse. After fighting and using different kind of languages with Amazon Customer Service Reps, suddenly they had it in the stock and gave me the lightening deal and plus an extra discount and send it to me next day with no charge.
I received it 9 days later from my original order and since my old Toshiba laptop was dead for almost a month, I kind of destroyed the box in the opening so I am not sure if the seal was original.
As soon as registering with Dell, I tried updating to Windows 8. Again I had to call Microsoft, since I didn't receive their e-mail with the upgrade link to Windows 8. Technician spent about 20 min and run the download... Read more

I am writing a review of the Chromo Inc� White 4gb 7" Android 4.0 Touch Capacitive Screen 1.5ghz 512 RAM Mid Tablet Pc Wifi 3g Camera Tr-a13. I have been using it for some time now, and there have been some points that are good and bad about it.
Pro#1: I am one of those strange people who have never used a Tablet Computer before. I do not own a Cell Phone either. Therefore, I was wondering if I was going to have some problems setting this computer up for my use. However, it was easy. If anyone has used Google Chrome on their Personal Computer will be able to use this tablet computer. In fact, using Google Chrome will help over come one of the main problems with this tablet.

Let me start off by telling you all that this was my first experience with a tablet however, I do own an Ipod Touch. This Chromo Inc 7" Tablet shipped fast, which was very nice. on first impression I wasn't really impressed by the overall appearance of it but for the price and purpose it was fine. The icons did not respond well to most touch screen demands however; it did work better with the use of the stylus. buttons are hard to press and ill fitting. The appearance and weight of it does have a cheap feel to it. It was easy to navigate through and set up desired applications. The Tablet was purchased for my eleven year old son so it seems perfect for a young adult. My son can surf the net, play Angry Bird and other online teaching apps. He is happy with it thus I am happy with this purchase.

Just got it today, so I am giving it a 4 star (sadly last update Jan 2013, I had to reduce 2 stars from my review) and will update this review as I use it. Here goes...
I was eye balling the new Ipad (yeah, I am all things Mac), but honestly could not justify the $500+ (already have a macbook air that I can slip in my bag) for simply needing a tablet that can stream Netflix and perhaps some kids apps. My daughter loves watching Curious George, hence I needed a reasonable tablet that can keep her busy while visiting my workshop.
Like the other reviewer, I had been considering the earlier model of this device, but due to the small price difference, it made sense to go or the latest model with the capacitive screen. The unit comes nicely packaged with a printed manual, a slip case, a micro fiber cleaning cloth (small), a USB cable, AC charger, the tablet, and and some other cards, offers, and info. All in all, a good quality box and package making for a nice first impression.
I charged the battery and then turned on the tablet. It booted up quickly and I set up my wifi connection with no problems at all. Pretty much like any Android tablet. There are a few basic apps installed (music, video, email, gallery (pics/vid, YouTube, etc.) and the GetJar app market. Well, for what it costs, it's just barely tolerable. I bought it to test developing with Android. For that purpose, as a lowest common denominator device, it works fairly admirably. On the other hand, this is nearly the bare bones minimum you need to do Netflix / surf the web / play games etc. This thing is just barely fast enough to play Netflix SD. For light web, book reading and email, it would serve pretty well given the price. I plan on buying one for my Mom, and maybe as a treat for one of my kids if they do well in school. But it's certainly no Nexus 7 or iPad. But hey, it is cheap as all get out, and it works, so that's pretty hard to argue with.
